Warning: For Moms Only!

So bugs has a lets say little BM problem.  I mean to poor kid can’t poop alright!  Hopefully he’ll never read this when he’s old enough to be embarrassed.  Today is Thursday, I think it was Sunday he went last.  He’s been having this problem lately.  I guess because he’s starting to eat more solid foods.  The nurse at the doctors office said to go get some glycerin suppositories that they make for babies.  Yummy!  So I’ve tried prunes, I’m not sure if they worked.  Actually I’m pretty sure that they haven’t worked.  Pears do a pretty good job of helping the little guy out too.  I’m also reading a book called Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron.

510c0x3tlUL._SL500_AA240_The book is all about feeding your baby healthy food.  Well, one things she recommends is giving them what she calls Super Porridge!  Da da da da da!!!!!!!!  It’s basically ground up brown rice, and then you can add other protein like egg yokes, tofu, beans, avocado.  She says that parents that give it to their kids daily don’t complain about constipation or diarrhea and she says she hasn’t done a scientific study but it even seems like they get sick less.  So I thought I would try it out.  I made bugs supper porridge today here’s what I did:

Let 1 Cup of water boil

Ground up 1/4 cup brown rice for two minutes in my blender

Put brown rice in the boiling water (turned down the heat to the lowest setting) and used a wire whisk ever couple of minutes to keep it from scorching and to keep the lumps away. Simmered for 10 minutes.

Scrambled up an egg yolk

I already had an frozen avocado cube in the fridge

After the rice finished cooking put the scrambled egg and avocado in there.  He seemed to like it more than I thought he would.  Yum!  And I’m not sure it its what did the trick or not but shortly after poop!  Some of the smelliest ever! But none the less!  I’m sure bugs felt lighter after that!  Success! Now she says to feed that to your little guy every day.  There are other ways to make it with other grains and such and adding seeds.  This was my first run but I’m sure I’ll look into making it some other ways,

We’ve got a crawler on our hands

Yep, so after two months of pushing up on his hands and knees and people saying, “is he crawling yet? is he crawling yet?” he just days ago started taking a couple of crawling steps.  Then this morning he was going to town.  He has already been crawling around and getting into things that I keep telling him “no!” He wants to play with his highchair, the blinds, the cord to the computer, what’s next? He’s having so much fun crawling around he lays on his back and starts waving at himself and laughing.  Silly little guy.  That’s the other new milestone Caden recently hit, he is waving, he hasn’t figured out how to wave hello or bye bye yet but he waves all the time.  He’s also figured out how to pull down his bumper on his bed and wave through the slats on his crib.  It’s just like he’s waving and saying “get me out of jail mom! Kind of like this…

He’s also becoming a much better eater.  He’s recently tried whole milk yogart and egg yolks.  Yummy!  He seems to be very happy about both.  This morning I even gave him some peeled grapes that were cut up into fourths.  Those didn’t really even get into the mouth so well but when a few did he seemed to enjoy sucking on them a lot!  Yay!  My little boy is getting big so fast!
